The Dutch driving test in English
To get a Dutch driving licence you pass two exams at the CBR: the theory exam and the practical exam.
Theory exam: the theory exam for the car can be taken in English, without an interpreter (CBR).
Practical exam: the examiner speaks Dutch, but you may bring an interpreter. That can be a sworn interpreter with a valid interpreter pass, or your driving instructor with a valid instructor pass, as long as they speak Dutch and your language well enough. Your driving school reports this when it books your exam. Spoken navigation is not translated, so set it to your language before the exam starts (CBR).
We book your practical exam for you. Tell us at the start that you want an interpreter, so we can arrange it in time.
